You may have to georeference your boundary with respect to some reference map or another dataset on which you want to overlay.

You can use tmax, tmin and wind speed to compute PET using penman monteith. Then you can use budyko framework to get actual ET. That is the best you can do in the absence of observed data. But it may be effective only for annual scale (because of the assumptions involved).

I have been trying to give the precise command which can be of use but I always get error while posting it. So if you need further help, you can come and meet me. I linked VIC with matlab so linking swmm to matlab shouldn't be a problem.

Systme command only calls the external program like swmm but before that in case you have to automate the process of initializing the model then you have to prepare the input file in matlab editor itself and save it.

It depends completely on you or what you are more comfortable with. If you are working in linux then writing there in some shell script should be helpful but as I understand SWMM works in windows then you can write it in Matlab only. and you can link SWMM to matlab (as a reply to your other post).

Regarding model calibration, there are three parameters B, Ds and Ws in soil file...you can tweak them individually and see if they make some significant improvement in your result.

I would add one more thing to what sat kumar has pointed...go to the global parameter file...check the path for different input files such as soil param, meteorology...are they defined properly and correctly...!!!

That comes when you close the terminal.
Why do you want to do that?
VIC doesn't close by closing the terminal. if you want to come out of the model, then use cd command again. It will come out of the directory.

With VIC...in terminal what is the error that comes...you please put the screenshot of that..And also does it show, running 'xx' grid...???

Pl. check the inputs properly. this error is with respect to not able to find the input files.

if it has opened that means model  has compiled properly.
Only thing i see here is that I may not be able to find the one or more input files.
Can you go through the topic 'anybody working with VIC' (started by me)...i remember encountering this error...sat kumar posted some reply and after that it worked. You follow those steps, it should work.

Did you compile the model using make command?
Please check in your main folder that VIC.exe file exist?

If the above steps are done, then you have to give the proper path to the global parameter file.

First you have to set your VIC folder (that contains this exe file) as the main directory using cd command...like...cd (space)VICfoldername
Once directory is set, use ./vicNl -g Foldername/global param file

As i mentioned in my first reply...compiler package is missing. You can search for this error on google and install the suitable package. It should work after installing package for  like gcc compiler (I'm not sure because I din't work on cygwin for long).

VMware can work. But this error may still come up. You have to first install the suitable compiler (gcc compiler) in both cygwin as well as VMware or linux also. Then the operating system will be able to compile the software using make command.
